Directing Career

TOUT BAIGNE SINGAPORE 1996

Article Translation

Agnès Seelinger
Direct descendant of the Countess of Ségur, Agnes has come a long way! The dizzying and global success of “Cuisine et dépendances" had taken her away from the stage and from her former comrades. The commercial rights of the book, the comics, the radio soap opera, the website, the films and its two sequels, the cafe-concept, not to mention video games (under license), t-shirts, caps, lingerie, etc ... of "Cuisine et dépendances" brought her back 827 million dollars after taxes (she didn’t pay thanks to Antoine - see above), her spectacular divorce from Steven Spielberg, another 500 million, in 10 dollar bills, plus another 2,500 FF in the winning quartet of the Grand Prix de Vincennes last March. "I have nothing more" she cries today, cicada of the 21st century, "I lost everything at Black Jack in Monaco”. Agnes comes back to us filled with hatred against society but once again taking up the challenge, that of making you laugh, a demanding audience, and that of ridiculing you, pathetic actors.

Sister Agnes, as she was called among the Carmelites, likes to say that she has lived two lives. The socialite police have 23! But this is another story. Because "the one we will talk about later" is her! So let's talk now: Last descendant of the CarrefourAuchanPrisu family, Agnes avoids the lucrative and rude traps of the large distribution to concentrate on the small. But these efforts to stand out from the crowd and rise above her condition make her quickly tire of the curvy curvy fishermen who make up her daily life. She embarks on a desperate quest for culture and self-elevation at the Carmelites, a small hotel in Pigalle, namesake of the famous convent. It is by arguing one day in the Mammouth of Clichy, (the two protagonists fighting over the same Ethiopian Barbie), that Agnes and Martine get to know each other and that the redeeming power of Agnes, a former sinner, will find in the weakness of character of Martine (rich little girl... if you follow!) a favorite land. From now on, one will not be seen without the other on all paths of life, in ashrams, at Darty's, at Celine and Dior Vuitton runways and at protests to protect the tropical forests of Kowloon. This evening, the spiritual sisters, united in the union of truth, will once again dazzle us with their magic of words and gestures.

LE JARDIN 2009

The Garden …. Extraordinary

428,958 HK$ - is the sum collected at the end of the performances last month of the play by Brigitte Buc “Le Jardin”, directed by Agnes Seelinger and remarkably played by “her” troupe of amateur actors who, unanimously, has no more amateurs than the name… A troop which had triumphed two years ago in the boulevard play “Tout Baigne” and who knew how to pass from the big pantalonnade to the subtle and moving humor for the greatest satisfaction of the director who since last January had not taken care of them during rehearsals:

“They amaze me, we really changed our register, we moved away from the boulevard to go towards more intimate, more emotional things. Chantal Jacquemain (Suzanne) who is far from being a little old woman has found everything it takes to convey the emotion and the sensitivity of a person twenty years older than her. Philippe Neveu (Antoine) got very attached to his character, his wife Laurence (Jeanne) who is an adorable person has turned into a real harpy! Valerie Traversa (Violet) who is not quite 25 anymore was basically 25 years on stage and (Philippe) who was very afraid to pass from the role of the grocer Boulaouane two years ago that of the grand bourgeois golden boy this year has been excellent!”

The five actors were also very happy. Happiness to find the public and to share with them emotion and optimism. Happiness to have been able to control their stage fright, happiness finally to associate their talent with the generosity of the 1150 spectators, loyal and generous partners, anonymous donors for the benefit of the association “Les enfants du Mekong" and “Fond des Amis du Lycée Français”. Of the amount collected, 352,958 HK$ will be used to finance a development project in Cambodia, 76,712 HK$ will be donated to the Friends of the High School fund.

DES MECS A HISTOIRES 2010

The letter translated

The story of guys… with stories!

Agnes Seelinger-Lahirle invites us to a new adventure, a little crazy, perhaps, vibrant, undoubtedly, entertaining, certainly.

What changes is that it is no longer theater, a mirror of life. It's a cabaret / music hall, unbridled, in the image of the “Zoozoos” by Didier Marty, that is bringing us their repertoire of French songs, where everyone will be able to reminisce and reconnect with our musical heritage.

What remains is the generous impetus that still makes Agnes undertake this show. Once again, it bridges the gap between the School, the students and their parents, the French and foreign community, and several beneficiaries: The French school support and solidarity fund, the association “Enfants du Mékong" and the “Youth outreach de Hong Kong”. Close solidarity, more distant solidarity: once again it is a question of doing good by doing good…

Agnes Seelinger-Lahirle allows us to reconcile pleasure, conviviality and altruism

We thank her and the artists from France to present this to us!
